Activities, classes & events that are held in our community

Registration is open now for Sockey.

Sockey ® is an Elementary-level indoor co-ed sport created to learn the game of hockey, exercise, and have fun all while listening to great music! It is a safe variant of hockey played in a gymnasium with sock-covered hockey sticks, soft indoor hockey balls, and players wear sneakers instead of skates! Players receive a team shirt and team picture, and all equipment is provided (including sticks).

What sets our after-school program apart from others is our philosophy. We believe in giving back to the community, fun for all students, convenience for parents, financial support for teachers, and an overall sense of community for everyone involved. The program is designed by Andy Borowsky (Village Technology) and coached by teachers in the district: This year we welcome Kelsey Koelzer (the 2016 #1 draft pick in Women’s Professional Ice Hockey) to the Sockey team as our new Sockey Community Outreach Adviser.

Sockey is the only after-school program completely run by WW-P teachers! The program donates a percentage of the proceeds to each schools PTA per student registered, and we team up with our WW-P guidance counselors offering “Sockey Scholarships.”

Registration is now open for the Fall session

Beginning the week of October 9th, 2017.

Registration closes on October 3rd, 2017.
